15 Week Update

How far along?: 15 Weeks
How big is baby?:   Your baby is the size of a pear!  She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds.  Your baby is growing rapidly and your baby's skeleton is now developing bones.
Any appointments or updates this week?: Yes, I had a great appointment on Monday which I already updated about.  Our next appointment will be the anatomy scan, I can't wait!
Body changes?:  My belly is definitely growing!
Maternity clothes?: I'm almost ready for them, I can definitely feel my clothes getting tighter.  Two pairs of work pants just barely button up, they are super tight.  I'm debating whether I should try a belly band or just go straight to maternity pants for my work clothes.  I do have one pair of maternity pants that I bought on sale from Target's website but they are full panel and right now they are still falling down too much.
Best moment last week?: Getting to see Sweet Pea on the ultrasound machine
Food cravings?: I crave food constantly, but it usually doesn't have to be one particular thing.  I'm loving eating cottage cheese lately.  It's a healthy snack and it also has 5 grams of protein per serving.
Symptoms?: I have round ligament pain sometimes, especially if I cough, sneeze or blow my nose.  I'm also starting to get some acid reflux, especially if I go more than an hour or two without eating anything. And I am still getting woken up in the middle of the night with leg cramps.
Exercise?: I went for a short walk on Tuesday night.  I was going to try again tonight but it got cold outside and I had to make dinner.
What I miss?: Nothing really.
What I'm looking forward to?: Our anatomy scan and also being able to feel the baby moving.  I've heard that usually happens between 16-18 weeks so it shouldn't be too much longer!

  2. I'm excited for baby movement too! Every once in a while I'm like... was that baby? And then I realize that I'll probably KNOW when it's baby! FX that you feel him/her soon!
